Babuthe Automotive Components, (Babuthe) was founded by the
Automotive Incubation Centre in 2012 as a Tier 2 component supplier
to the broader automotive industry in South Africa. It is part of an
Incubation Programme initiated through OEM’s and Government
partnership managed by the Automotive Industry Development Centre
(AIDC) to forge automotive business relationships and develop emerging
suppliers in the automotive, engineering and manufacturing industry to
become globally competitive in the automotive component manufacturing
sector. We are situated in Silverton, Pretoria, an automotive industrial area in Gauteng province.

MR SIBUSISO BUTHELEZI

Managing Director – Babuthe Automotive Components.

Mr. Sibusiso Buthelezi is the Managing Director of Babuthe Automotive Components which he is owns 100%. He was paired with a Tier 1 component supplier that supplies components to multiple Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) globally. Mr Buthelezi holds a BTech in Industrial Engineering and has 12 years of experience within the automotive industry, having worked as a Logistics Engineer at Daimler Chrysler in East London, and an Industrial Engineer at Nissan SA’s plant in Rosslyn.

  • Oversee warehouse, inventory control, material handling, customer services, transportation and planning workers.
  • Hire, train and evaluate employees. Ensure warehousing and distribution workers follow safety rules.

Logistics Engineer: Daimler Chrysler

  • Design or analyse operational solutions for projects such as transportation optimisation, network modeling, process and methods, analysis, cost containment, capacity enhancement routing and shipment optimisation or information management.

  • Co-odinating production workflow for products. Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.

A Bit About Us

Babuthe Automotive Components was established through an Initiative by Ford Motor Company and Gauteng Provisional Government to develop black-owned components suppliers in the Automotive Industry. Babuthe’s main business focus involves vacuforming, robotic trimming, drilling, assembly and logistics of automotive components for OEMs. Additionally, We operate an extrusion and regrind facility.
